The Ultimate Guide to Zozobra Tickets

103rd Burning of Zozobra · Friday, September 3, 2027 · Fort Marcy Park / Magers Field, Bishops Lodge Road, Santa Fe, New Mexico

Tickets on Sale Tuesday, April 13, 2027, at Midnight

Judgment Day for the Kid. Sales open at 12:00 a.m. as Monday night turns to Tuesday.

On April 13, 1881, a judge in Mesilla handed Billy the Kid his sentence. On April 13, 2027, Zozobra the Kid gets his. The sentence is carried out Friday, September 3, at Fort Marcy Park, and your ticket puts you there to see it done.

The Kiwanis Club of Santa Fe is proud to offer Zozobra tickets with absolutely NO credit card or processing fees. The price you see is the price you pay.

This Year’s Villain: Zozobra the Kid

For years you have asked Old Man Gloom for a country western theme. In 2027 he obliges, and he does not come as one outlaw. Zozobra the Kid is every Old West villain at once: the snake oil salesman, the rustler, the claim jumper, the crooked lawman, the card shark and the land-grabbing man in the good suit. He is gloom with a good reputation.

The story has Santa Fe roots. Billy the Kid wrote his letters to Governor Lew Wallace from a Santa Fe jail cell, in a town the Santa Fe Ring thought it owned. The ending does not change. The Torchbearers ride out as the posse and fail, the children are taken, the crowd decides, and the Fire Spirit ends him. After 103 years, the Kid still burns.

Close to 50,000 people attended last year. Bring a blanket, come early, and make an evening of it. Gates open at 4:00 p.m. with music, food vendors, the beer garden and the merchandise booth.
