IT’S TIME FOR ZOZOFEST

AND THE ZOZOBRA

ART EXHIBIT

Come to Santa Fe Place Mall to get

A FIRST LOOK AT ZOZOBRA

ZozoFest is back and the FUN IS FREE!

It’s that time of year again –– time to meet Santa Fe’s iconic disrupter, the king of gloom, trouble-maker extraordinaire –– ZOZOBRA himself!
Gather the gang and head Southside to be among the first to meet Old Man Gloom at the FREE Annual ZozoFest and Zozobra Art Show, sponsored by Del Norte Credit Union and the Del Norte LOV Foundation, Friday through Sunday, August 26-28, 2022, in the space next to Boot Barn on the western end of Santa Fe Place Mall at 4250 Cerrillos Rd, Santa Fe, NM, 87507.
Come get a first look at Zozobra in person before he travels to Fort Marcy Park to meet his immortal foe, the Fire Spirit, at the 98th Annual Burning of Zozobra on Friday, September 2, 2022 at Fort Marcy Park.

This year, the Zozobra Decades Project takes Zozobra into the 1990s, the time of boy bands, Rugrats, plaid shirts and Pokémon cards. Who better than Zozobra himself to give everyone a totally rad way to connect to Santa Fe’s most historic tradition?
The Zozobra Art Exhibit recognizes the importance of Zozobra as an icon for the City of Santa Fe and ZozoFest brings inspired depictions of Santa Fe’s favorite monster together in one place. Dedicated collectors can purchase one-of-a-kind artwork in a variety of media. Hundreds of drawings created by Santa Fe Public School students will be on display, showcasing the enduring love for Santa Fe’s oldest malcontent.
“When the Kiwanis Club builds Zozobra, we accept that we also have to get rid of him,” says Zozobra Event Chair Ray Sandoval. “This is his purpose but the artwork created in his likeness lets him stay alive all year-round as a meaningful part of our history and culture. The art show is for all artists, all ages and all media –– and it doesn’t matter if it’s their first art show or their 100th!”

The Zozobra Art Show will have lots of fun items on display: historic artwork, paintings, drawings, prints photography and contemporary works for sale by local artists.

ON FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 2, 2022

Coming to Zozobra in person? No COVID restrictions. Masks are optional but encouraged and free masks will be available at the venue, along with increased hand-washing stations and hand sanitizer.
Can’t come to Zozobra? Your $15 donation in place of a New Mexico residents’ ticket purchase at this linhttps://burnzozobra.com/ helps Kiwanis keep this cherished event alive and fund programs that help our youth. That’s right! After Zozobra pays its bills, the net proceeds go to fund nonprofits that help our kids. And that $15 you donate–– the same amount as a movie ticket or two lattes –– means that our Kiwanis mission of helping kids dream, learn, grow, and thrive can continue.
Please consider pitching in. We’re counting on you. You’ll make your life less gloomy knowing that you made a child’s life brighter! Thanks!
